Has anyone seen any displays yet in Somerset of these amazing birds? I know it is very early in the season, but the numbers in the area are growing. Where are the best sites to visit?
Any help or advice gratefully received by a new member!

Hi Swells. The two best on the Somerset Levels are at either Shapwick Heath or Westhay nearby.

Just been shown on autumnwatch tonight. Simon King is all set up at Westhay to film, but 600,000 or so are at Shapwick! They are moving the cameras tonight!

its our Local birding website.

600,000 is a bit too many a few days ago it was only 50,000 and the roost at the moment is at Mere Heath hide, which is just off Shapwick heath, thats where they were watching from.

Give it to the end of the month and the roost will be in its millions.
