| | | sea eagles A freind of mine brought me a paper clipping today. He thinks its strange for me to head up to scotland to go look at some bird, untill he read this in the paper, he also found it funny that I spent 3 days in the rain and did nt catch a glimpse of one (although i did get a few golden eagles whoo haa) when there apparantly everywhere.

| | | Re: sea eagles What a shame that you didn't get to see a sea eagle when you were in Scotland. I was up there in May and took a boat trip from Portree on Skye to see one. It was raining then too but I did manage some half decent photos.
It was my first trip to Scotland, my mum grew up there and always said I would like it. I'm hoping to go back next year.

Paul | Must have been on migration. Although not in the UK, I saw a juvenile White Tailed Eagle off the coast of Gdynia, Poland earlier in the year. I think I was the only one excited to see it, others didn't seem to bat an eye-lid.
I watched it fly up the coast from Gdansk (at least 7 miles), it was being mobbed by at least 4 crows. Its amazing how big the Eagle was in comparision to them. |

Ann | Only if you were there in February 1984! Brill, Bucks. Think it was an immature bird, spent time in horse paddock; accepted as a genuine wild vagrant. |

| | | Re: sea eagles Yes I've lived in Bucks most of my life. The only other place I've lived is Brazil for a couple of years in the early 70s.
So I missed out on a local sea eagle then?!

Looked like a barn door flying in, it seemed so big.
