I hope they catch the person responsible and throw the book at them.

I would rather do more than throw the book at them Russ!!!! Words fail me. I would have hated to be one of the witnesses to watch these fantastic birds in their element and suddenly shot and falling to the ground, what a horrible sight that must have been!!!!!

Theres no doubt in my mind that these were shot by someone worried about their Pheasants and waited til later in the day hoping no-one would be about . If they are caught it will be another rap on the knuckles as it was when they trapped the Tawny Owl on the same estate. Gamekeeping is one of the few professions where people are routinely taught how to break the law as part of their training.

Why, why, why. I still find it unbeleivable that people still do this (money)?. Surely there is enough prey to go round to satisfy all needs.

I would have liked to put it more forcibly myself Nicola but I didn’t want to swear on the forum!!!!!
To think that some tool has shot these birds to protect something so that a chinless wonder can get his rocks off at the next “shoot” beggars belief.

Discusting! I bet they get away with it too. If not, I hope a maximum sentence is passed if anyone does gets prosecuted. (£5000 and six months prison)

I find it ironic that we currently have the Nature of Britain series singing the praises of our diverse wildlife yet stuff like this is going on with some people seeming hell-bent on destroying some of our native species.IF it turns out a gamekeeper on the Sandringham estate was responsible its likely the whole sad event will be swept under the carpet and the person responsible will probably get told to be more careful next time so as not to be caught...

This is really sad and makes my blood boil. Unfortunately I also agree that nothing will ever come of it. It amazes me that people cannot see these birds for the beautiful creatures they are.

Can't say what I really think on here. It disgusts me every time. The law is too soft, the royal family couldn't care less and the people responsible will continue to do it. Sick, sad, pathetic individuals. How can they claim to care about Britain's wildlife when they are hell bent on destroying one of our glorious birds of prey ?
