Blackcap: First for our Garden!!!!

GET IN!!!! I took a quick look out the window and at first, thought it was a male House Sparrow but NO, it was our first Blackcap!!! What a beauty too! I watched him for about 10 mins until he flew off!! Hope it isn't a one off and he brings the missus back with him

Lucky you..Only ever once seen a black cap, and that was nowhere near my home, I hope you get the pair back later..

Pretty little birds aren't they...........saw my first one ever last weekend at our local reserve.

Had a female Blackcap visit my peanut feeder earlier this year. There are a few which seem to have taken to over-wintering around here.

Hi Mark, I've seen them quite a lot, a few times locally, but never in my garden!! The males are particularly gorg don't you think??

Aahhh, so they like the nuts! So unlike the rest of my birds in the garden!! Where about in Staffs do you live? I never see one in the winter.
