I took these two snaps yesterday of the same bird but from different angles and against different backgrounds. I think it is a finch. I wondered about female chaffinch or a greenfinch. However, the green back and wing markings have thrown me. It may well be a juvenile.

I'd say female chaffinch too but don't take my word for it, i'm not too good at this.

I'D say the same it seeme to be doing a good job of hiding those white wingbars though! |

Looks like a female Chaffinch to me. The second one almost looks like a Greenfinch, I can see why your confused! |

Definetely a female Chaffinch, the patch on their backs can be very greeny at times. Nice shots!
