| | | Kingfishers on the river I've always wanted to see kingfishers having only ever seen one before on the River Dart in Devon. That was until recently when my wife and I bought a canoe and each time we have taken it on the river (the Stour on the Suffolk/Essex border) we've seen them! We think it must be the different angle as we have never seen them from the bank. So those of you wanting to see kingfishers get yourself a canoe! |

| | | Re: Kingfishers on the river I have never seen a kingfisher and I would love to.
I regularly go to a bird reserve around the corner from me, and the other week I missed the resident Kingfisher by 5 minutes!!! I waited for a while in case it came back, but it didn't (probably waited until I left).
I am off to the canoe shop!! |

| | | Re: Kingfishers on the river Thats brilliant buddy. I saw my first Kingfisher's this year, me and my partner saw two @ Slimbridge and one when i taking photo's of Grebes.
I was led in the grass focusing on the grebes then i heard a sharp shreek and saw a flash of blue and he landed on the perch, that was a special moment.
I have always wanted to get canoe and travel down a river that would great.
Well done chap keep enjoying the canoe and the kingfishers | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
