Yes, it is a Common Buzzard.

Are there other types apart from Common that we get around here?

And if so what are the differences

You do get Rough Legged Buzzards, but they are mainly Passage Birds or Winter visitors, and are quite rare, mainly confined to eastern england They have a longer tale which is pale

Honey Buzzards are also visitors here, but i believe as summer breeders. Although these are not actually members of the Buzzard family

Honey Buzzards are also passage migrants. We had one in Oxon this year just a fly thru.
Does anyone remember several years ago when hundreds turned up one Autumn. I remember going down to Portland and saw several hundred pass thru along with Common Buzzards.
