| | | Re: Did I see a Golden Eagle ? Can anyone confirm that golden eagles are still breeding in the lake district. I know the female died one or two years ago and haven't heard if there has been another mate for the male. I think these were the last pair south of the boarder according to a colleague in the RSPB. |

| | | Re: Did I see a Golden Eagle ? its a very sad fact we still have one single golden eagle up here in cumbria what i cannot believe is the fact we have been assisting the irish to re introduce the golden eagle to county donegal we also have re introduced the white tailed sea eagle to scotland and now the red kite to england is stillongoing .its such a shame our poor male golden eagle is never going to find a mate on his own ane the rspb and english nature have done nothing to help this bird and i fear it will not be long before the mightiest of all eagles will be extinct in england. |

Given that he is outnumbered probably 100 or more to 1 by Common Buzzards in Cumbria, I think that it is highly unlikely that it was him. | That was what i was told when we went on our hols there last year...i persuaded the good lady to go go and have a look but to no avail there was no sign of it...
