The Raven has a much heavier and longer beak than a Crow.

I've never seen a Raven other than in the air, usually quite high too. The call gives them away for me.

I am a total Corvidophile and I am thrilled to see them, and to have a very friendly magpie living in my garden at the moment  .

I managed some shots of ravens at Gigrin - I know this is still quite a way from South Wales and that you have been before (I think)
