ID Pair of ducks
A pair of ducks has arrived at the Canoe lake, Ryde, Isle of Wight. A resident told me that he hasn't seen this breed in 14 years of walking by the lake. Can you identify my photo of one of them. I have placed an image in the Gallery in the unidentified category "Unidentified" and I have titled the image "Strangers". I have just joined the forum today and I haven't yet got my head round the procedure for placing the Gallery photo on this post.

Hope someone can help.

Hi and welcome to the site,
Here's your picture, to put it in a post you just copy the forum image code below your picture in the Gallery, and then paste it into the post.
Your Duck is actually a Goose, a Bar-headed Goose. They're not native to Britain but they're very popular in wildfowl collections and escapes often occur.
They're very nice looking little geese

Many thanks Guy. I wondered after my post, whether I had made a faux pas in calling the bird a duck.
