| | | Sparrowhawks Had an amazing show in the back garden this morning. Tell-tale circles of pigeon features have told me there was a sparrow hawk in the area and this morning I saw her, sat on the garage roof, chowing door on another pigeon meal.
We sat watching for ages, my daughter very excited and the drama continues as a couple of jackdaws tried to get the body off the hawk to no avail. Then a magpie swooped in and bullied the hawk away from the prize.
The hawk shot off, followed by the jackdaws who were obviously hoping that they'd be able to pick up some scraps from its next kill.
My daughter, who's only 18 months, is obsessed with birds. I'm hoping that over the autumn as we put food out and so on will help grow this interest as well as trips out and about as well.

| | | Re: Sparrowhawks It was a show and a half.
By the way, I obviously meant pigeon feathers in my earlier post. That's what you get for posting while half watching Strictly Come Dancing... |
