| | | Please read ref. Red Kites Well, I truly put my foot in it with my posts regarding Red Kites.
Apologies to all concerned, as my intention was to let others know more about this majestic bird, rather than put it at risk.
Although it is clear that the people I come into contact with as I travel around are sincerely interested in the Kites both as a spectacle & also for preservation, there are likely to be those with an ulterior motive, & I should have known better!
I am very aware of Schedule 1 & given that I use top end lenses, i have no need or desire to encroach into nesting areas. Also, given I have a bad back & have to always use roadside parking, it's impossible for me anyway.
Finally, in a veiled reference to my recently deleted post, the site is yet to be fully perceived as a confirmed nesting site & if true, will be reported to the local responsible parties, along with pictures of all the tagged ones i have sighted. |

| | | Re: Please read ref. Red Kites I have inadvertently put my foot in it over crayfish, unless you have an extreme interest and training over wildlife issues there are many legal pitfalls, it is mortifying to know that a wrong word or action could endanger thevery wildlife we love!
Nesting and Breeding areas keep to yourself seems a good rule

It's so easy to put down something with the best intentions you regret later, done it many times myself.. |

| | | Re: Please read ref. Red Kites This is a very important point I feel too. The temptation to discuss ...with interested parties and here on the net too. I would never disclose the location of anything of the slightest interest other than trusted aquaintances.
There are many collectors who act in the twilight zone in this country.....I have notified the police on numerous occaions, who have always responded.
Even things like flocks of goldfinches should be kept secret, as theres a big trade in these birds in this country. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
