| | 20 year old Tawny owl gives birth I just heard this morning that a 20 year old tawny owl has given birth to twins. This happened in the North East tip of Cumbria in the Kershope Forest. In human terms this grand old lady gave birth at 100 years of age! She is believed to be the oldest tawny owl living in the wild and certainly to give birth.
I have just found a link to the story. BBC NEWS | England | Cumbria | 'Astonishing' tawny breeds at 20

| | | Re: 20 year old Tawny owl gives birth Dont worry we knew what you meant...i would have called it giving birth as well....as laying eggs doesnt dictate they hatched...survived etc....and raising chick could have been a surrogate/orphan situation...so giving birth instantly told me the 20 yr old owl has made her own babies....so dont listen to Lincs
Im curious now what the oldest living british bird it?....not necceserily the record holder one off type of thing...but in general?...are owls longer lived or is another species better at watching fashions come round full circle?
