| | | Movie Thanks to the link Words sent me I have converted a Quick Time Movie to one that has been accepted into the gallery. These movies are not high quality as they were taken using my CP4500 camera attached to my scope. The bird in question is a Baird's Sandpiper which was about 300+ yards away at a place called Kirkby on Bain GP's which is Lincolnshire. It was taken on 24/09/2005.
Here is a link to it. It is in the Sounds Forum. http://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk/ga...mage-7910.html
Let me know if you think it is worth placing these type of movies into the gallery. If so I will convert a few more and place them into the gallery.
Other files ready for converting are:
Brambling
Dunlin
Great Spotted Woodpecker
Green Heron
Hoopoe
Kestrel
Kingfisher
Laughing Gull
Lesser Spotted Woodpecker
Sociable Plover (not very good footage due to very extreme distance coupled with bad light and very windy conditions)
Temminks Stint
White-rumped sandpiper
Wood Pigeon
Plus one of a Grey Squirrel.
If you feel they are useful for the gallery I will endeavour to get some more movies done in Norfolk. They are mainly about 30 seconds long so not too long to get bored with.

Personally I'd like to see the Hoopoe and LS Woody, but any would be great. |

| | | Re: Movie Just to let everyone know, we're not yet ready to start posting videos in the gallery as it will take quite a bit of moderating, quality control and file compression to get it right.
I've switched off the upload facility for the moment and I'll let you know when we're ready to start showing videos.
Cheers

Stu | Fair enough Stu
I hadn't realised that. With all the postings regarding this subject I thought it was already in operation. Let us know when you are ready.

| | | Re: Movie If you could email me the original video before it was compressed then I'll run it through various compressions to see which one comes up best.
Was it originally 320x240? Ideally, 640x480 would be good if you've got it.

I hope that has helped you to visualise the differences.

John | OK OK I knew you were right really
But thats one of the reasons for posting these movies..........especially of the rarer species........its so much easier if you see something in real life or footage of it then you tend to remember it better rather than when you just look at a picture in a book. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
