Where Did All the Starlings Go?

As a kid in the 1960's I was always amazed by the thousands of Starlings on the pylon wires at this time of year. I don't see this anymore, have thier numbers dropped or is it that they don't migrate anymore?

There has been a decline in Starlings since the 60's. There still seems to be quite a few around here and numbers will be augmented by migrants from Eastern Europe and Russia etc as winter sets in there then.

The most I've seen is groups of about 30 at a time.

Well i must say all summer we have had loads of starlings here, but the last few weeks they seemed to have disappeared and i only see them now and again but in very big flocks!!
