We have had a summer in Bucks with hoards of tits of all types nesting in the many trees around the edge of our village.
Our flat is just a few yards from wooded country at the back, and my wifes peanut feeder has resulted in queues of tiny colourful doting parents waiting their turn on the feeder. More likely on occasions fighting over their places.
THEN - in what seemed like a single day - they all disappeared ???
Could this be because they are not feeding the young?
Or perhaps the season of plenty has made the peanuts superfluous?
Or perhaps they have migrated, though I thought the Blue Tits were resident.
It seems a mystery to me - ANY IDEAS OUT THERE? I'm sure there are some knowledgeable people who could explain.
