identification request

On a lake (which is rather green) in Liverpool there is a new flock of dazzling white birds the size of pigeons with large eyes and long slightly curved orange beaks. I go the park a lot and i have never seen them before. Could anyone tell me what they are.

Are they ducks or wading birds? Can't think of anything offhand other than some "farmyard" type ducks...

er, potentially i'd agree, they might be ducks of some sort? but they tend to have short bills. the other potential is oystercatcher, which have the long orangy bill, but they are black and white??

any chance of a photo??

If they are all white + quite small, I'm guessing the're a domesticated Mallard- Call Duck type.
