| | | Starlings at Leighton Moss Dear folks,
Is anyone aware whether or not the big Starling flocks of several years ago still come to roost in the reedbeds of Leighton Moss? I wouldn't mind a shufty this winter if they do.
Regards, Chris |

| | | Re: Starlings at Leighton Moss I think the most famous place to see this is around Shapwick Heath on the Somerset Levels (a fabulous reserve and the only place I've ever seen a wild Otter!). On Nature's Calendar the other night, Slapton Ley (Devon) also had a similar display.

Nowadays we have to travel to see them - a sad sign when a bird that was once so common is in decline - OK there's still lots around but big roosts really were everywhere. I used to follow flocks on my push-bike to try and find where they roosted and ended up in one or two very odd places, but that's another story.
