| | Feeding wild birds Hello, I have a small parrot at home, and the seed and bits he doesn't eat I usually throw away, I was wondering if this would be suitable to put out for wild birds as it seems an awful waste, the only problem I have is I don't want to put it in my garden as we have cats on all three sides of us, has anyone any ideas of what I can do with this, or is it best to just throw it away, Thank you |

| | | Re: Feeding wildbirds I Have a Red Bellied Concure which i feed on small parrot mix which has dried fruit and monkey nuts, i find that he will also eat the wild bird seed which is very similar..On occasion i had put this mix on the bird table the birds seem to also enjoy this as a change . you find at the end of the day there isent much left behind...and by adding some corn to the wild bird seed my two Japanese Quail enjoy this also...

| | | Re: Feeding wildbirds My suggestion would be to get or build a bird table that's got a feeding (lipped) tray about 1.5m above ground. That should keep cats away and stop food being blown onto the ground. While you're thinking about it, if you have trees, buy hanging nut and seed feeders. I expect your feathered friends would be grateful this winter and in return provide something nice to watch. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
