What would be your favourite garden bird. I think my favourite would be a Goldfinch, I know its very common, but for me its such an attractive bird, and when you get several of them together I think they make a sound that resembles tinkling bells paul

Re: Favourite

I don't have a garden as I live in a second floor flat!

If I did have a garden, it would probably be Song Thrush.

Re: Favourite

Our Blackbird. We've had a resident male for three years, he's become quite friendly. When the wife is cutting the grass, he'll follow behind, stamping to bring up the worms. We spoil him with fresh apples every day. Now he's got a partner and she's taken over the apple.

I don't know of any particular favourite they are all my favourites, but I have a most dis-favoured one The Starling, its rude its brash and frightens off all the other birds.

Re: Favourite

Definitely our resident Sparrowhawk. I hate to see birds taken but, I can't help but get a shiver of excitment when I see a raptor hunting

Re: Favourite

It has to be the Group of Pheasants that come into our garden every day, the " running battles" between the two mature males make for exciting viewing - they really are incredibly aggresive at times.

Re: Favourite

Siskins. They're new to our garden and now there are only 2 that come to visit really early. They stand their ground against the bigger birds and are totally capitvating.ww

Re: Favourite

Only have a back yard, but our river walk is across the road, and I'm putting our 2 resident kingfishers as my favourites.

Re: Favourite

my favourites this winter/spring have been siskins and goldinches. It seems the siskins are no longer coming though which is a shame. I think both siskins and goldfinches are such attractive birds.

Re: Favourite

Favourate garden bird has to be the Wren he/she trys to bath in the flow of the waterfall in the pond, nearly falling in all the time can't really class the sparrowhawk as a garden bird because they only made brief food stops

Re: Favourite

My favourite has to be the Yellowhammers that come in and feed in my garden every day. Uptil a couple of months ago they only made visits every time it snowed, but now they come all the time. The males are really beautiful with their bright yellow chests and heads. Even the duller coloured females are beautiful.

Re: Favourite

Up until the other day I would have said goldfinches because they have only recently started to visit us, but just this evening a pair of siskins came and the brilliant colouring of these birds was amazing and I would have said them, however our resident robin and they way he looks at you when your trying to get his photo has to be tops for me

Re: Favourite

Sparrow, brash, cheeky, endearing welcome-to-a-new-day chirping. I like all the others as well especially the buzzards that seem intent on joining me in the car but the sparrow is what started me on WAB
