| | | Re: Scotland trip It's great to see you back on WAB Vinny - I hope all's well with you.
Some great shots there - where exactly did you go in Argyll? My wife and I are planning a trip in May to the Loch Linnhe area, between Oban and Fort William so any tips would be much appreciated.

| | | Re: Scotland trip Thanks for the info VC. Loch Awe is quite near to where we'll be staying and already on my trips list - 12 pairs of Osprey - WOW . I'm also planning on a day trip to Mull.
Anyway, how are you getting on with Kingfishers near you?

| | | Re: Scotland trip I was surprised when i was told Loch Awe is a good place to visit but is a huge loch so there are lots of different spots you can go to. I went to a village called Kilchrenan i think you'd have to google it lol. Its always worth a boat trip from mull to the smaller islands as thats when i saw the basking sharks ( 8 in total ) , seals, skuas e.t.c and the boat drivers are very sharp eyed. One place you have to visit if you would like to see Otters is Salen Bay! On Mull. I was told by a local if you camp up for a while the Otters are very confident and will come out of the water close enough for some brillaint photos! The unfortunate thing for me was I was unable to make the trip as the ferry was full But Its One place id definetely recommend.
As for the Kingfishers I think you probably saw my results from summer and i have been to busy 2 return and at this time of year they have dispersed so its unlikely i would see them. Are your Kingfishers still visiting regualrly ( You lucky thing ) |

In fact yesterday afternoon my wife had two sightings but, of course, I was out - looking for Barn Owls just up the road but didn't see any - should have stayed at home and watched the Kingfisher!

| | | Re: Scotland trip cool photos! I'll need to get myself off to Mull this year for a weekend or two glad to hear you went to Loch Awe too - it's a bit off the beaten track, but it's such a beautiful place. I was taken there every year for a holiday by my parents from the age of 2-18, so I know it pretty well!
what time of year did you go?
