Re: Singing skylarks

Couldn't agree more, their song is beautiful!
Takes me back to when I used to lay on my back in a field at Shepperton.

I was under quite a few of them on Saturday and I must admit that I do love to hear their song. I must admit though that there was one time I wished they (and a Chiffchaff) would shut up. It was a few years ago and I was fishing on a Carp lake and had a Skylark and a Chiffchaff constantly sing right by me for virtually the whole of the daylight hours.

It does become a bit tortorous after 10 or more hours at a time.

Re: Singing skylarks

There's quite a few Skylarks around these parts. They seem to prefer wheat fields around here. It's always good to hear them and then try to locate them.

Re: Singing skylarks

I live in north east Lincolnshire, and there are a good number of Skylarks present in the fields near me. These fields are predominately Wheat and Barley. I hear them singing most days at this time of year as I walk my dogs on the public footpaths alongside these fields
