| | | Leighton Moss 26th Aug We decided to visit Leighton Moss over the bank holiday weekend.
1st time I had been back in over 15 years, we saw Red Deer, Spoonbill, little Egret, Marsh Harrier, and mostly common birds, apart from a Bittern that fished in front of us for about 5 minutes, caught a large Perch, swallowed it and walked off.
I have loads of pictures, but have only uploaded 2.
Both pictures are untouched.

| | | Re: Leighton Moss 26th Aug Hi Andrew, nice photo's of the Bittern. I went to Leighton Moss last year but alas didn't see any. You did well, they are hard to spot and you saw some other interesting things while you were there . |

| | | Re: Leighton Moss 26th Aug Obviously a worthwhile trip- good photos of an often elusive species. Haven't been to Leighton Moss for over 20 years when I was a student, though regularly see Bitterns at Minsmere + around London in the winter. Always a fabulous bird to see + so sad that most of the East Anglian birds' nests got flooded out this year. |
