| | | Re: Red Kites at Gigrin. Went to Gilgrin Farm in the summer not a seat to be had in the hides. so stood by were the farmer goes in with his tractor.Had my EOS 400d with my 18-55 lens it looked like a mickey mouse camera compared to the gear the blokes in the £10 and £15 pound hides had.I am just a novice so no good photo.Have since bought a Bigma.Did the A44-A470 Aberystwth Rd at the top off the Valley there is a pull in for about 3 cars great view. The red Kite were gliding at eye level. Daughter jumps out off car With the Bigma took loads off photos, but in her excitement forgot to unlock the lens. All photos were blurred. Lucky the lens seems to still be working ok.

No need for embarrassment though - we've all done something similar or worse
My Red Kite shots yesterday were taken in Landscape mode

Excellent stuff .... I can feel another visit coming on soon.
Richard | Yes, I saw that too Richard, and immediately thought of this thread. I'd love to visit Gigrin Farm someday. Fortunately, living in the Chilterns, I don't have to go too far to get my 'fix' of Red Kites.
Personally I think it should be government policy that every city, town and village in the country has at least one pair of Red Kites! Seeing these magnificent birds flying overhead adds immeasurably to the quality of life! | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
