It sounds like they're getting something from the window or the window area rather than attacking their reflection, crows are too intelligent too do that so often. I would not stand for shooting them, no matter how much something annoys us it gives us no right to kill it, I would understand if it was life-threatening but being woken up maybe a nuisance but just a nuisance nonetheless. |

I'm now left wondering If your windows that are being attacked are all facing the same direction? |

I forgot to hang the plasrtic bags out of the windows again this year-but it didn't matter as there was no recurrence of the problem [fingers crossed for next year]...but in answer to the question-it was ALL the windows that the crows attacked -both on the house and garage, not a particular side |

| | Re: Help! Crows are attacking my house! hi I was relieved when my son found this sight! I was pestered with 2 crows ALL last summer from spring through to autumn. They nest in the woods beside my home and have just started the ritual again. I live in a large house and one of the crows thumps violently into one of the windows then tries another while his mate caw, caw caws in the background. This can go on for about two hours and again it pecks at the frame too. They are frightened of people but doesn't stop them returning. Neither did scarecrows, Tinfoil, and various assortmenrs of things. I went to home base yesterday and bought animal repellant called Cat a Pult which contains aluminium ammonium sulphate to see if that works. Keep you posted. |

| | | Re: Help! Crows are attacking my house! A slight deviation but my sisters car is being attacked daily by a male Bullfinch who makes a mess along the bottom of the nearside windows and wing mirror, being nearest the garden border as it is parked.
She has taken to covering the whole side of the car with a sheet to successfully deter this behaviour.
A mate of mine has his roof mounted solar panels attacked and damaged by crows who also pull off the plastic screw covers holding a steel panel roof down. This behaviour appears to be random destruction for an unknown reason rather than aggression towards a reflection. |

| | | Re: Help! Crows are attacking my house! I sympathise with what you're experiencing. I too am having the exact same crow attack. A window (PVC and brand new) situated in a brand new cement and mortar building facing a south westerly direction is constantly attacked and battered by crows.
It usually occurs early in the morning just before and during sunrise. The window is a double-glazed installation with clear glass.
There are two windows on the same side however the other is a frosted glass and isn't attacked as much.
I have resorted to hanging a dead crow from a tree branch in front of or near to the windows, and hanging white plastic bags (not the most slightly of window ornaments), but nothing seems to sway the attention of the attacking crows.
Whatever draws the crows to these windows their attack is persistent and sustained so much that blood is scored all over the outside pane, as is scratches and silhouettes of their determined flapping at the window.
What is making them do it? How can it be prevented?
The area immediately outside the windows is clear open field. There is no presence of woods or anything else as described in previous feedback. |

| | Re: Help! Crows are attacking my house! ok so who can help me i had crows banging on my windows last year from about 04:30 for 4 months solid, i was near depression so heres what i tried last year, halloween ghosts and scarecrows outside, vics smeared around the windows, netting covering all my windows, wooden sheets covered with nails on my windowsills, plastic bags strung up all around my windows, tin foil balls strung hanging from bits of string, cd's strung up, streamers from pom pom's all round the windows the list goes on..... basically everything!!!, so can you see now where the depression sets in?????, so at 05:30 this morning guess what.............. f$%&ing crows are back again, this is our third summer in this house, its a new house, we had no problems the first year, so why are they doing this to us and not the neighbours? i have a 10 yr old son so i have to get up as soon as i hear the first bang as i cant have him getting up at that time of the morning because he suffers from migraines when hes tired, so as you can imagine last summer i was constantly tired.
theres got to be somebody out there who can help me pleeeeeeease |
