There seems to me to be a great portion of the adult population, that have missed out on the joy and delights that nature brings. If the children can take this thinking back to their parents, then perhaps things will start to change. | you know what i blame the car, children are driven everywhere these days so they dont see nature in its beaty, where are all the country walks gone i dread the next generation growing up because it will be even worse then,i was brought up without a car we walked everywhere thats how you see nature,we went on picnics, blackberrying,in fact we were hardly ever in summer time and i did the same with my boys, thats where it seems to have stopped,in the 60s and 70s people got lazy and drove everywhere they dont know what there missing do they,by the way i still dont have a car and dont want one. |

What a great loss of a beautiful animal. People will [i]never [Ilearn because they are so concerned about the ££££'s in thier eyes they dont care what happens to this planet. But where will thier money be when our own existence is under threat because of thier greed. I'm boiling now. OOOO when will people see that right down to the smallest insect they all serve a purpose, we are not gods, the planet will only take so much.Thank goodness for now these people are a minority. |

I can't quite agree with you on the education side,[I ought to start this "when I were a lad"]
We used to be taken out on lots of nature rambles, everyone enjoyed it, including the teachers, but nowadays it's much too risky, labour intensive and insurance costly to take any children out, this is the age of insurance claims, not totally the education systems fault.
The parents now should be taking them out, again a slight disagreement with an earlier post, with cars being so plentifull , children should be able to visit places I'd never have had the chance to visit.
Max.

I know what you are saying but by decending to this level even in fantasy how are we better than the people who did it ? surely conservationsists should seize the moral high ground and mobilise public opinion against the poisoners. | On another thread about the same subject, I posted this link ........ TheyWorkForYou.com: Are your MPs and Peers working for you in the UK's Parliament?
It's an automated link to enable you to contact your MP. Eeyores advice to mobilise public opinion is, of course, the best solution.
I have used the link to contact my MP to express my concern over the paltry sentences imposed if they get caught.
Keeping the problem in the public eye is a good way to get results. It'll take ages probably, but don't give up. Giving up is giving in.

This story like so many I read made me angry to the point that I felt sick. I have been lucky enough to see a Golden Eagle twice in Scotland and they are so beautiful they will take your breath away.I go to Scotland at least once a year never expecting to see one but knowing I possibly could;I hope the time never comes when I go knowing there is no chance at all of seeing one. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
