Very nice pictures.
I have to ask..on your sparrowhawk picture it is standing on one leg, and a picture i took in close encounters thread that one is standing on one leg too
Do you know why they do this??

jen xxx | Sorry to be butting-in here, but I have wondered that too! I have a couple of resident robins, one of who always stands on top of the wall (awaiting his mealworms) while on one leg. I thought it was because they want to rest the other leg, or to warm the other leg/foot/claw? |

| | | Re: Bird Visitors (with photos) Lovely photos vinnychameleon How did you get on photographing that Kingfisher? I've only had a Sparrowhaw visit my garden and I didn't even see it. My partner woke me to tell me it had been sitting by our feeders! |

The one we took it was cleaning itself and looking around!
Maybe nothing to do with it but was yours?
(or maybe they are from the same one legged family ) ha ha

Sparrowhawk
Green Woodpecker | Great shots. I've yet to see a Sparrowhawk . They are supposed to be common but I've never seen one, even though there is plenty of prey for them round here. |
