Identification Please?

[WestLothian]

I came across this fairly large sized bird this morning. It has a harsh warning cry and was high in conifer trees out of sight but disturbing the branches. I was expecting a buzzard or something similar from the calls but this has a straight beak more like a thrush.

I wish that I had got a sharper picture but it was behind a blur of branches as you can see from these full size crops.


Any ideas please?

Thanks for all the ID's.
I didn't see the blue wing bars but the shape and the tail match well.
I will try another visit to sneak up on it rather better.
