Hi all,
Saw these on Anglesey today, I think they might be Juvenille Pintails? Any help?

These are definitely not Pintails.
I would suggest that they are eclipse (moulting) Mallards .... or one of those strange many varieties hybrids!

The're domestic varieties (not hybrids) of Mallard. |

Thats what I thought - but they have definate blue bills - mallards have yellow or brown, even domestic mallards.

Steve, scroll through this lot: “Manky Mallards” (domestic, feral, or just plain odd Mallards)
You'll see one or two with blue bills

Cricky - I didn't know there were so many Manky Mallards, thanks for all the help. Will watch these birds carefully and see how they come along.

I've seen Mallards (quirky or not) on the Thames with blue bills. |
