A factory in Birmingham discovered a great tit was nesting in an ashtray box. I guess looking at it, it made for a good shelter

We had a bird get into work recently disturbing the alarms and meaning that the key holder, Dave, had to go in, at the weekend having been alerted by the security company. He entered, shut the alarm off, and located the magpie. The police then turned up to ask if there was any problems and Dave told them that there was a magpie flying around. The first officer replied with "he hasn't 'stolen' anything has he Sir?" to which his colleague replied "cause if he has, we'll have to have him up infront of the 'beak' ". Who says the police don't have a sense of humour?

We had tits nesting in one of the cigarette end boxes at work a couple of years ago. They've been known to nest in post boxes as well, and Blue Tits once nested in the box in which the milkman used to leave our milk. The box had divisions for each bottle and a lid - I think the birds got in through a hole which was a hand grip - one bottle space made an ideal site for a small nest. We had to have the milk left outside the box for a few weeks until the young fledged.
