Minsmere RSPB Guide

When asked where the bitterns were, the swallow replied "over there!"

I thought about saying the same word much louder , but I know how shy and sensitive he is and I wouldnt've wanted to hurt his feelings

Re: Minsmere RSPB Guide

Brilliant photo Za. Well spotted.

I know this site well. It is by the sluice near the beach and has long been known as one of the best places to get close to Swallows. At times you can get to within inches if you are careful. Here are some shots I took as far back as the 1st of May this year.

This next one was taken on 07/05/2006.

If you want Swallow shots this is the place to be. I can't think of many places where they will pose literally inches from your face for long periods at a time.

John

Great shots John, Jules was within 2 feet of the one we got shots of,I`m sure she must have got some more close ups.So this is a regular place to get up close to them then?

Absolutely, especially early in the season such as the beginning of May.
