I have been watching my bird box that I thought contained a nesting blue tit.
The occupant showed itself one sunny day recently,a Wood-mouse which had been hibernating in the box !
I feel better for knowing

excellent, what a result. That'll definitely be a weight off your shoulders after you got worried about having disturbed a chick in the box |

The Woodmouse is pretty cute ,I was peering in the hole and he was peering back he/she then climbed out of the hole looked me up and down and then ambled off along the hawthorn like a tiny tarzan!

How nice to know that the box was used outside the breeding season. That is a well used resource.

Wildone the boxes are used more as roosts than breeding boxes,after this year I will relocate them if they are not nested in
