| | | Buzzard? I apologise now for the state of this heavily cropped image, my camera just wasn't up to it! This photo was taken over the Quantock Hills in Somerset earlier in the week. My guess is a common buzzard but it really did sound more like a honey buzzard, although it's the wrong area for them. Can anyone out there confirm it is a common buzzard. Ta!

| | | Re: Buzzard? i think a good thing to remeber anout the difference between honey and common is that the honey buzzard has very feathery legs - but it's so difficuly with common buzzrds they come in so many colours!

| | | Re: Buzzard? I saw one at the weekend, was only a few feet above my head being chased by a Peregrine! heard it being hit a couple of times The Peregrine wasn't happy at the Buzzard being in its territory I think.... Unfortunately I didn't have my camera. I wasn't sure which it was, but am now thinking Common Buzzard. Amazing site, feel very privilaged to have been in the right place at the right time |

| | | Re: Buzzard? that's very cool! I've seen buzzards near my house bein mobbed by rooks and crows - the buzards didn't look very impressed - or very bothered actually, a quick flick of the wings and most hits were avoided -
