| | | Two Unidentified Birds - Always Together http://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk/ga.../0/5/Mates.jpg
This photograph is of two birds that are constantly in and around our vicinity, invariably these two are together perching on the fence or rooftop and yesterday they were "sitting" on our lawn next to each other. They seem quite docile as I was able to approach quite close to take the photograph (this has been cropped to show more detail). The green line across the top of the fence was meant to deter birds from perching above the beans growing against the fence. Are they young doves or pigeons, also can anyone confirm the sex? Thanks |

Collared doves, I'd say, although there's no sign of the collar in the picture.
BTW, if you copy and paste in the "forum image code" instead of the "direct link code" your picture will magically appear in the thread - like this:

| | | Re: Two Unidentified Birds - Always Together These are the baby pigeons (collard doves in this case) that no one sees!! see the longer beaks with no neat top to it like adults have and scruffy plumage. |

| | | Re: Two Unidentified Birds - Always Together We had one on the fence this morning, it sat there in one spot for about an hour not knowing what to do. I finally decided to get my camera only to find that at this point it had finally moved on . | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
