Re: Treecreeper Boxes, do they work?

Well, I've put a couple up and not had any Treecreepers use them, but maybe I haven't got Treecreepers on my patch. Can't hurt to give them a try.

Cheers

We have seen Treecreepers about during the last week or so, the only thing that my stop them nesting naturally is the fact that all the tree's are only 12 years old, maybe a couple of boxes would get them to nest, like you say can't hurt

I must admit I have never seen one use one but that doesn't mean to say they don't. It would be nice to find out though.

BTW I like your Avatar. That's a nice lump you have caught there. What was it, about 18lb?

John

I believe treecreeper prefare mature trees to nest in, but it doesn't hurt to try. You'll probably get blue tits in there if treecreepers don't fancy it.

Not sure about treecreepers, but I think your guess of 18lbs is close John, but I am going to go with 16 lb......................Jon

Re: Treecreeper Boxes, do they work?

Wow Links, as an ex carper, I feel I messed that one up big time. Biggest one I caught was 22lb.
Tip for you, (but don't tell anyone else) If you hold the fish out from your body when the photograph is taken, the fish appears much bigger than it is in the picture. I have shots of several 30-40lb fish.................Jon

I'm as guilty as you folks for going off topic but I think we ought to pull it in now and go back to what the thread is about.

Yeh it does make a fish look massive, but why try and make a fish look much bigger than it is you see plenty of shots of anglers trying to pull off 15lb carp as a big 20 in the mags
