Last cuckoo!

There's always a bit of a race on to hear the first cuckoo, but when can we expect to hear the 'last' one. For me, it was last weekend and I don't recall hearing one in July before.

good point haven't heard or seen one up here for about a month now . come to think never saw many at all this year

I haven't heard any cuckoo's at all here in North Somerset. I usually hear two or three at least .

Heard one nearly every day in early may through to mid june but none since

Adults normally leav late June leaving juvs in July until they depart in mid Aug, however I have heard a Cuckoo singing for the first time in July, after over 30 years birding it was very notable

I heard and saw plenty at my local patch in Essex up and until early June and then plenty also whilst in the Scottish Highlands in mid June .... but nothing since.

That's when they normally stop, I wonder if the wet weather has got them singing again for some reason.
