Bird Identification please
Whilst walking along the shore in the Isle of Arran last week I spotted a blackbird sized bird, fawn/light brown in colour with black flashes on either side of its head white patch on its throat and an orange beak.

I have never seen one before and would be pleased if someone could tell me what it is.

Sounds like it may have been a ringed plover

Hello texus and welcome to the forum.
Your bird was probably a Ringed Plover, but just possibly a Turnstone.
