flocks of starlings

hi ive noticed the last few days flocks os starlings building up and flying around the housing estate i live, isnt this a bit early?

I've noticed this too .... mainly flocks of this year's young birds.

I am not sure if this is early or not but our "summer" is often the beginning of "autumn" for wildlife.

By the way, what is "summer"? I think it may be the weather we had in April. It is distinctly grey, drizzly and autumnal in Essex today .... again!

I have been getting the flocks around the garden even in Stornoway, they are so so so noisy I have taken to wearing my ear plugs when on my computer and listening to music to drown them out. They are eating me out of house and home, thought the last few days its only be the resident few that have been coming along.

It is amusing watching their feeding frenzies they get quite violent to each other and the noise!
