Common or Arctic Tern

I took this photo on the Farne Islands in July 2004. I think it is either a common or arctic tern. ID anyone?

Definitely an Arctic Tern,

Looks like an Artic Tern , dark red usually with no black on tip on bill.
Common Tern has an orange-red bill usually with black tip.

Does look like an Arctic Tern. The Arctic has a shorter red bill and as stated the Common has a black-tipped, generally more orangey bill. That said, the Arctic's bill can blacken in winter, and the Common is often described as having a 'bright red' bill. For me, Arctic Tern.

Artic Tern I think not just on Bill and Leg colour, tail looks to be longer than primaries, this would be the other way around on a Common Tern.

again definitely arctic tern. that's an excellent photo as well. anytime i've tried they all swoop on me like an invading alien
