| | | Re: does any one webcam birds? Funny thing... Just been thinking about it.
I've got a wecam I use for astrophotography, but have rarely
used it due to weather/light pollution etc. Once the weather
clears up, I'm going to mount it next a feeder and hide in the
shed and see what happens |

| | | Re: does any one webcam birds? I've just set it up on a tripod in front of the feeder.
The software has a motion detection mode, so I've
left it monitoring the feeder ... so far I've managed
to catch half a sparrow
So now I've reset the tripod... and trying again ..........
fingers crossed might get a whole bird in the shot this
time |

We also monitor hedgehog visits after dark. We started with a single nestbox cam in 2001, and since then we've added more cams, so during the nesting season we had nine cameras running. Details of the nestbox cams can be found on the Technical page of our website. |

| | | Re: does any one webcam birds? I have a pair of video cameras that are watching my bird feeders. The first one is a 24 hour day/night system that is lit at night by IR lighting. This camera watches the main feeders The second one can be moved around by the user and is positioned right next to some ground feeders. This camera also show you just how overgrown a garden can get lol From lawn to wildlife haven in 4 months
Both cameras are password protected so use: username: welcome
password: password
For the techies out there the first camera is an Axis camera with a built in webserver, the second one is a Panasonic system again with a built in webserver. They both connect to my network via wireless connections |

| | | Re: does any one webcam birds? thanks for the info guys. i'm setting up my system ,officially,in a couple of weeks time as an event at the lochan where i work at. took a lot of sweat to do it. the biggest problem was getting power to the computers but fixed that with power inverter plugged in to a gigar socket .i'll also make waterproof covers for the cams, not that it rains much up here once it's running i'll post pics ,we get loads of siskins and tits .wish me luck. |

| | | Re: does any one webcam birds? Well after a quick go with the TouCam tonight, I thought it hadn't worked, due to
focus and camera position ...
Just had a look at the data ... it's videos and not stills as I thought, and I
managed to capture a couple of sparrows feeding, even got audio of them
feeding and chirping I'm well chuffed
I would share it but it's 39Mb | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
