Great Crested Grebe and chick

I came across this scene early on Wednesday morning. At first sight, I thought that there was a nest involved, which was surprising as I had not noticed one there before. Closer inspection revealed the lack of a nest, so I am pleased to be able to post these for your delectation. In my defence, I will say that as soon as I got off the bus, I realised that my bins ere safely at home.

The flowers are an added bonus, and, no doubt, will be identified with the usual WAB expertise.

Great shots once again Colin.
I was watching a family on our local lake, parents and 4 youngsters, similar size to your youngster. It was a treat to see the parents bringing fish and dropping them into the water to get the young to dive for their dinner.
