| | Injured bird Can anyone help with the issue of injured birds in my garden?
One of the downside of feeding birds in my garden is that this seems to be happening regularly. A few weeks ago there was a fledgling sparrow who obviously had left the nest too early. I gave him food, water and shelter but sadly he didn't make it through the night. Then there was a male blackbird with a damaged wing, this time he was caught by a cat. Now there is a fledgling or female (maybe both) starling who also has a damaged wing. Again she is sheltering in a bush and I have given her food and water on the ground but I don't know what else to do for her before one of the local cats get her.
Any suggestions or advice would be great.
Thank you

| | | Re: Injured bird After checking the RSPB website yesterday I took the starling to my local vets this morning. I was a bit concerned with his 'We'll sort it out for you' comment as I maybe naively thought they would try to fix her wing (if it was fixable) but now I get the feeling she'll just be put down without trying. Maybe I'm not giving the vet enough credit but I suppose she is better there than getting rained on in my garden and at risk of a cat attack.
