I found this sad looking young crow sitting in long grass by a stream. There was no sign of parents but since it was far from any road or cats so it should be almost safe. This is a difficult and high risk time for the youngsters and it is tempting to interfere and try to help.

I hope that it will be okay until it figures out the flying trick.

I should think the parents won't be far away and if they are it will give some loud calls to let them know where he/she is

You're absolutely right WL and, in my opinion, were wise not to. Unless such birds are in imminent danger (eg from cats, etc) or have definitely been abandoned by their parents, it's usually best to let nature take its course. I believe far too many people interfere prematurely, though doubtless with the best of intentions.
