| | | Cat brought in an un-injured young bird what do i do The cat just brought in a young bird, seems uninjured (as with the mice it brings in too).
It has plenty of feathers, but they are short and when i picked it up it flew out my hands a short distance but can't fly much more. It looks quite young.
It is light brown/grey on the belly and brown/dark brown on the wings/top/head.
I have it now in a small box. So... question:-
Is it now too young to put somewhere (I Dont know where the nest is at all). Or do i keep it in the box and feed it a worm every now and then or what?
I can't keep it really due to having two cats, a newborn baby etc to look after aswell.
Any help appreciated. |

| | | Re: Cat brought in an un-injured young bird what do i do contact your local Wildlife Hospital, if it been cat attact it may need some anti-biotic.
most cat attact bird die within the first 48 hours, not due to shock but due to the toxins on the cats teeth and claws.
I myself have had 4 cat attact fledglings pass away because of these toxins.

The bird appears unharmed, no blood, no cuts, no bite/teeth marks. The only thing it seems is scared. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
