Some good news for the DW. Let's hope their habitats aren't ruined by the ever growing demand for more houses etc.
A species that is helped along by warmer winters.

That is good news- definitely one of the beneficiaries of the milder winters we've been having.

Indeed, Dartford Warblers are very vulnerable to cold winters which now seem to have all but disappeared.

When I first started birdwatching, a trip to Arne RSPB reserve in Dorset was required and even then a sighting of a Dartford Warbler was never guaranteed.

Now I visit both Chobham Common in Surrey and Dunwich Heath where they are thriving and very easy to find.

I missed out on this year's over-wintering Dartford Warbler at RSPB Vange Marsh close to home though!
