| | | I saw my first grey wagtail Yesterday my friend took me to see a new flat she is hoping to move to ...it was by an old mill that is now offices ...as soon as i saw the water i made her drive into the car park and let me have a look in case there was a kingfisher (i can dream cant i ?)...well as soon as we drove by I said *O* i have never seen one of those before....and when i came home had a look in my bird book ...and hey presto another bird on my ever growing list of *to see birds* ...and of course it was in the exact location the book said it would be ! If my friend gets her flat ...i will be camping out there as its such a lovely peaceful spot ....and then perhaps i will get to see my kingfisher ...and the beautiful grey wagtail again ....Marion |

| | | Re: I saw my first grey wagtail Well done, Grey Wagtails are really nice little birds. I'm sure you'll see them some more if you keep looking in the area (and maybe Kingfishers!)

| | | Re: I saw my first grey wagtail You might get dippers there as well, they like fast flowing water around old mills. My sister saw one last week when she was staying at an old mill converted into a hotel.
Good luck with your kingfisher.

| | | Re: I saw my first grey wagtail Hi, good luck with the Kingfisher!
I'd love to get a proper good look at one, all I can claim to have really seen is bright blue bums disappearing fast into the distance. Boy, are they quick! |

| | | Re: I saw my first grey wagtail Congratulations on spotting the Grey Wagtail and good luck with your quest for a Kingfisher, but do bear in mind that they prefer still or slow moving waters rather than the kind of fast flowing and often shallow streams/rivers frequented by Wagtails and Dippers.
