| | | Sound recording (and Hello!) Hello all.
I've just joined the forums, and am looking forward to joining in the various interesting conversations hereabouts.
I've been birdwatching for years, and along the way have also picked up a bit of knowledge about plants and a bit less about insects, etc. I've done some photography of plants, and tried a bit of digiscoping of birds, but not been particularly successfully (yet).
I've now just started doing some sound recording, and am really enjoying it. A bit of a financial outlay needed, but I'm now enjoying a whole new way to experience and immerse myself in the countryside. I've already discovered the advantages of getting out early to avoid the sound of the crowds, and that brings with it the added advantage of being alone with the wildlife.
I'm a complete beginner at it so far, but the learning is half the fun.
Anyone else of the forums doing any wildlife sound recording?

| | | Re: Sound recording (and Hello!) Hi Jerry, I don't do sound recordings, but my other half is a professional recording engineer and does it for a living. Therefore, I tend to avoid stuff like that, a little bit like a busmans holiday for me |

I do recordings too (although very amateurish) on the local bats in our forest.
So far I've recorded Natterer Bats, Noctule and both 45 and 55 Pipistrelles!
I'm looking forward to recording the local badgers too this year at a nearby sett, not too long to wait for the cubs now!!
