| | | What on earth is this bird?? Hi all. I was watching the birds in the garden and this little fella turned up. I could not identify him and after looking through numerous books am still unable  . I think it might be an escapee but am not sure  . Can anyone tell me wat this bird is????  |

| | | Re: What on earth is this bird?? I don't think it's a Golden Orilole, but I'm sure it's not a Yellowhammer, the colouring on the birds back is wrong for a Yellowhammer. On size alone I would say a Finch possibly an escapee.

| | | Re: What on earth is this bird?? Dunno why eeyore should be so sure that its a golden oriole! Size, head and beak shape and markings are all wrong. Golden oriole is blackbird size. In the Scillies I once saw a thrush that had been sipping nectar from some exotic flowers in Tresco gardens and got his head covered in yellow pollen. That wasn't a golden oriole either
