Help! Black body and bald looking head.... and ideas?

Hi everybody, I'm new to the forum. Can anyone tell me what this bird is?

Found in a garden in Birmingham, could it just be a Blackbird which has been in a scrap?

Looks like a black bird to me. I guess it may have lots its feathers due to disease or parasites or maybe in a scrap as you said

At first I thought it was just another example of one of the white headed blackbirds, but no, it really is bald. Never seen anything like it before. Thanks for showing it.

Wow - seroius alopecia poor thing! Don't they look strange without feathers? I'd say it's almost definitely a disease sign rather than having been in a scrap. It seems too specific an area to be bits of feather loss from a fight.

I've seen bald blue tits before now but never a bald blackbird. I know the blue tits recovered fully so I expect the blackbird will be OK too.

Gives us all some idea just how fragile and small the birds really are without feathers - even for a medium size bird like the blackbird. Hope he gets his feathers back soon.....
