| | | Lee Valley Bird Fair Well after an icy and foggy start the wife and i made it up to Lee Valley.
We both had an excellent day round the fair.Purchased a couple of Country Innovation jackets and a few books on Sussex and Norfolk birding.
It's a beautiful place to go and so big.........27 miles in length
Well of course being the idiot that i am i forgot my scope........it would have been a great place to christen it.
Managed with the bins and some help from the Rangers to bag these
Cormorant
Pochard
Coot
Black Swan
Gadwall
Canada Geese
Long Tailed Tit
Lapwing
Common Tern
GC Grebe
Redwing
GS Woodpecker
FieldFare
Robin
Green Finch
Tufted Duck
Chaffinch
Blue Tit
Dunnock
Chaffinch
Teal
Golden Eye
Unfortunately couldn't see the Bittern and missed a couple of SE Owls and some Buzzards but all in all well pleased .
I am sure i missed loads and just couldn't identify others but its all part of the learning curve i suppose.
Anyone else venture up? |

| | | Re: Lee Valley Bird Fair I was there today, although I stayed in the marquee, catching up with people I hadn't seen since the Bird Fair in August.
From there I went up to Rye Meades, but not much around, couple of mute swan, coots, shelduck, that was it! Apparantly they have been doing a lot of work there, consequently the place was bare! |
